Engineering News Record ranked Harper Construction as a top contractor in 3 different categories. Every year ENR creates lists of the top contractors in different sectors based off of contracting revenue. Harper ranked #25 in both the categories of Government Offices and Airports based off the work they performed in both of those areas.

The University of Arizona College of Engineering, recognized Ron Harper, Founder of Harper Construction, as a member of their Engineering Hall of Fame. The college selects alumni who have “made significant contributions to their professions, the college, and society”.

Harper Construction was awarded two new projects - one at MCAS Miramar, the other at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The Repair of Aviation Supply Building at Miramar includes demolition, paving and site improvements, structural retrofitting, as well as other architectural and mechanical upgrades. The project is expected to be completed by February 2025.

Engineering News-Record published a list of the Top 400 Contractors. ENR ranks companies by their construction revenue in 2021. Harper Construction is ranked 328 with a total revenue of $280.2 million.

Naval Air Station North Island held a topping out ceremony for new hangars that will house two V-22 Osprey Squadrons.

On February 16, NAVFAC hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. The ceremony marks the start of the Skytop Firing Bays project, a part of the $2.7 billion Earthquake recovery program.

A new F-35 Maintenance Hangar is now open at NAS Lemoore. In addition to the hangar, Harper Construction completed work on an adjacent parking apron and taxiways. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the opening of the hangar.

The Association of General Contractors selected AGC San Diego to receive the “Chapter of the Year Award”. Harper Construction President, Jeff Harper, serves as Past President on the AGC San Diego Board. He was present, along with other members of the San Diego chapter, to receive the award in Orlando, Florida.

NAVFAC Southwest awarded Harper Construction Company a contract for the construction of a 1st Marine Division Operations Complex at MCB Camp Pendleton. The contract includes the design and construction of multiple buildings at the Margarita 33 Area.

The San Diego Business Journal published their Book of Lists 2021, listing Harper Construction Company on more pages than any other firm. The Book of Lists 2021 recognizes Harper Construction Company as the fifth largest private company in San Diego County.

This year, MCAS Miramar received a new fleet of F-35 aircrafts, the first of 75 that will be coming to the base over the next 10 years. In order to help prepare for the incoming aircraft, Harper completed the construction of a new aircraft maintenance hangar and aircraft parking apron extension.

Engineering News-Record released its lists of top U.S. based general contractors, and Harper Construction is proud to have been ranked on the lists in multiple categories. Because of the many government projects Harper performed in 2019, the company is the 16th largest general contractor in the Government Office sector.

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest, San Diego awarded Harper Construction a contract to design and build a Maintenance Hangar for the Bell Boeing V-22 aircraft. The new hangars will be located on Naval Base Coronado. The new steel-frame facility will contain high-bay space, shops and maintenance space, as well as operation, training, and administrative space

San Diego State University’s College of Engineering has been working on developing a new Construction Management Major (CONM). The new program will provide students with the opportunity to take courses such as Fundamentals of Construction Management, Management and Organizational Behavior, and Preconstruction Management.

Harper Construction ranks fifth in the San Diego Business Journal’s List of General Contractors in San Diego. The magazine ranks general contractors according to their 2019 gross revenue from San Diego County offices.
