Harper Construction Completes New Aircraft Hangar at Naval Base Coronado

At Harper Construction, we are proud to announce the successful completion of the state-of-the-art V-22 aircraft maintenance hangar at Naval Air Station North Island. This milestone was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 8th, marking a significant achievement for our team and the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Southwest.

Awarded to us on June 25, 2019, this $72 million project represents 4.5 years of dedicated effort, expertise, and collaboration. The new hangar is not just a building; it's a comprehensive facility designed to meet the Navy's stringent requirements for the maintenance and operation of the CMV-22B, the Navy's advanced long-range resupply aircraft.

Key Features of the New Hangar:

  • High-Bay Space: Accommodating the unique dimensions and needs of the V-22 aircraft.

  • Shops and Maintenance Areas: Equipped with modern tools and technologies to enhance maintenance efficiency.

  • Operational, Training, and Administrative Spaces: Supporting the diverse functions necessary for seamless operations.

  • Infrastructure Improvements: Including significant upgrades to the surrounding pavement, ensuring smooth ingress and egress for the hangar.

This facility is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality construction that meets our clients' precise needs. The additional space and advanced features of the hangar are crucial for maintaining the full operational capability of the CMV-22B airframe, thereby supporting the Navy's mission readiness.
