New China Lake Project Breaks Ground

On February 16, NAVFAC hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. The ceremony marks the start of the Skytop Firing Bays project, a part of the $2.7 billion Earthquake recovery program. This project will demo four bays and replace 3 of the firing bays that were damaged in the 2019 earthquakes. The project is expected to be completed in 2024. Harper Construction’s President, Jeff Harper, spoke at the ground breaking ceremony.
